Whilst our volunteer editors will do their best to ensure our events listings are as up to date and accurate as possible; with the fast pace of how things are changing, it is inevitable that some will slip through the net. If you are planning on travelling for larger events, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly to avoid disappointment. We are putting in place new measures to give event organisers a friendly reminder to see if they wish to remove cancelled events, so we're sorry if it looks a bit bare in here :(
If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for free, professional advice.
Witney Urban Race, 15th November 2026, 10:00 to 14:00 at Oxlease Park, Witney, Cogges Hill Road, Witney (19.1 miles)
Try an adventure race around Witney - there’s a twist though. There’s no set route to the courses! It's an urban orienteering race where you have to find your own way around a series of checkpoints as fast as you can, using a special map to choose your own route. They could be around the town centre alleys, the residential streets, or around the parks. We give you a timing chip to register each one. Be as competitive as you want - you can run or just go at your own pace (it’s absolutely fine to just come for a walk too).
Eight great courses to choose from, from 2km to 10km. Lots of help available, and no experience is necessary. It's ideal for families and children, as well as runners.
Race HQ is in Oxlease Park, Witney, OX28 3FR. It’s pre-entry only - you can pre-enter via the event page; it’s £8 for the shorter courses, £14 for longer courses (£4 solo juniors), plus £2 for hire of a timing chip. You can also enter as a group and just pay a single rate (not per person). Entry fee includes a detailed A3 waterproof map to keep as a souvenir, plus a print out of your splits and result at the finish.
No experience is necessary and our friendly Welcome Team can help you before you start. You can start a course from 10:00 to 12:00 (everyone must finish by 14:00). Just don’t forget your sense of adventure!
